What happens if I need to cancel a shift?

At Nowsta, we understand that schedules can be subject to change. However, when shifts are cancelled at the last minute, it results in missed opportunities for our staffing partners and their workers. Out of consideration for our staffing partners and their workers, we encourage you to cancel your shift as early as possible to give our partners and their workers time to find alternate work, and so you can to avoid incurring a cancellation fee.


A cancellation fee will apply in the following circumstances:
  1. If you cancel a shift less than 24 hours before the shift is scheduled to start, you will be charged for 4 hours of pay for each worker that was confirmed for the shift. The 4 hours of pay will be charged at the agreed upon bill rate for the shift.
  2. If a worker arrives on-site for a shift that was booked on the incorrect date, you will be charged for 4 hours of pay for each worker that arrived on site for the shift. The 4 hours of pay will be charged at the agreed upon bill rate for the shift.
A cancellation fee will not apply in the following circumstances:
  1. If the shift is cancelled more than 24 hours in advance of the shift’s scheduled start time, there is no cancellation fee.
  2. If there is no worker confirmed for the shift that is getting cancelled, even if the shift is cancelled within 24 hours of the shift’s scheduled start time, there is no cancellation fee.
  3. If the shift needs to be cancelled due to a weather-related emergency, then we will waive your cancellation fee. Please reach out to platform.support@nowsta.com if you have questions regarding a weather-related cancellation.

Exceptions

Nowsta reserves the right to make exceptions to the cancellation policy based on the circumstances surrounding the cancellation. Exceptions may be considered for situations beyond your control, subject to review and approval by Nowsta.
