Coordinators have full control over how in-app chat works across their organization. These settings help define how and when workers can communicate with coordinators and each other.
To update your preferences, log in at app.nowsta.com using your admin account and go to:
Settings → Chat Settings
Here’s a breakdown of the available options:
1. Chat Creation Policy for Workers
Control whether workers are allowed to start new 1-on-1 chats with coordinators.
Option 1: Workers can start new 1-on-1 chat threads with a coordinator
→ Workers can initiate a conversation directly with a coordinator from the app.Option 2: Workers cannot start new 1-on-1 chat threads with a coordinator
→ Coordinators must initiate all direct communication.
2. Group Chat Permissions for Workers
Decide whether workers can participate in group chats, including Event Chats.
Option 1: Workers can send responses in group chats, including event chats
→ Workers can reply and contribute to the conversation in group chat threads.Option 2: Workers cannot send responses in group chats, including event chats
→ Workers will still be able to read messages and react with emojis, but won’t be able to reply.
3. Event Chat Channel Settings
Manage whether chat channels are automatically created for newly scheduled events.
Option 1: By default, a Chat Channel will be created for each Event
→ An Event Chat will be automatically created for all confirmed workers and coordinators.Option 2: Event Chat Channels will not be created when creating a new Event
→ You’ll need to manually enable Event Chat if desired.
Please Note:
Event Chats are locked two weeks after the event (no new messages can be sent).
They are archived six weeks after the event.
