Publish -> Apply: Nowsta Shift Application Flow
We are pleased to announce the rollout of our new Publish -> Apply workflow in Nowsta! This feature allows managers to publish open shifts, enabling workers to apply for available positions based on their availability and qualifications. Once applicants are reviewed, managers can confirm shifts, ensuring shifts are staffed efficiently and transparently, allowing you to find the best quality staff from the start. This new addition will allow you to review Workers instead of having shifts picked up on a first-come first-serve basis.
Step 1: Access the Publish Button
Begin by navigating to the shift details page. Locate the “Publish This Shift” button to initiate the standard publishing process for your selected shift.
Step 2: Configure Publishing Options
In the publish settings:
Select the Workers you’d like to Publish the Shift to.
Ensure that “Publish Shift” is toggled ON.
Toggle “Require Workers to Apply” to ON to allow workers to submit their interest in the shift. You can also choose to Notify Workers the shift has been Published.
Once configured, click “Save Changes” to publish the shift.
Step 3: Confirm Shift Publication
The shift is now Published. The system will display the total number of applicants (e.g. 2 applicants have applied for the shift). Press the Applicants button to review workers who have applied.
Step 4: Review and Confirm Applicants
Applicants will display at the top of the page. Click the dropdown button to view applicant details. Use the checkmark button next to their names to confirm their assignment to the shift.
Step 5: Confirmed Workers
After confirming the selected workers, their names will appear as confirmed for the shift. This indicates they are scheduled and ready for the event.
Done!
And that is how the application process works! With just a few simple steps, you can easily publish shifts, review applications, and confirm workers to make sure you get the best quality staff and maximize event attendance.
